WLKY.com reported an injury to a young man after a dangerous chemical spill in the Beechmont neighborhood in Louisville. The boy had a severe asthma attack that was brought on by chemical exposure, causing his mother to seek medical treatment. The mother said the asthma attack happened about three days after the family started noticing a terrible smell in their neighborhood. Other folks in the area reported problems including headaches, burning eyes, and chest pains.

The chemical spill was from the Nuplex Resins plant in Louisville. Apparently the chemicals leaked into the sewer system causing the odors to resonate through sewer lines into peoples’ homes. While this is the first chemical spill for this particular company, many people have been injured by their negligence.

If you or a loved one live in this area and are experiencing unusual symptoms, you should seek medical attention immediately. My thoughts are with this community.
